A ‘crabbit’ end to the school hols

Angry Crab

We spent a few more days at Capernaum Pier while the weather made up it’s mind to remain changeable. The kids had a good time crabbing off the bow of our 32ft Macwester Malin ketch, and pulled in countless crabs …some of which were a tad crabbit (ill-tempered) and I really wasn’t all that keen on picking them up. The one shown above fancied his chances.

As it was the last couple of days of the school holidays, we nipped up to Aberdour for a barbecue. The weather wasn’t great on the passage, and one or two of the kids were unsettled. However things changed substantially for the better when we arrived, and we had a pretty good evening.

The next day was very settled, but brought wall-to-wall rain. We prepped for a sodden journey on the Forth back home, but as it turned out the weather brightened just as we set sail, and we managed to get our Macwester back on it’ mooring during the only break in the weather that day. The kids found the name of the tanker that chased us down to the Forth Bridge quite amusing.
